January 2013 Future City Competition Information
Future City Competition Day Details: Lunch and breakfast will be provided for everyone (it’s a long day!).
Where? Taking place at the Curry Student Center at Northeastern University, 346 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA
When? January 26, 2013, registration at 8:30 am. Students who are not presenting should arrive by 9:30.
Who? Everyone in the Future City Club and their families are invited.
What to Bring? Every student attending should turn in a media waiver form to Ms. Collins no later than Thursday January 24th. Or, bring the signed form to the competition on Saturday.
Why? There are engineering activities scheduled throughout the day, and kids can show support for their team. Teams that are presenting must attend. All students who attend get breakfast, lunch and a t-shirt.
How? Parents are responsible for arranging transportation.

The anticipated schedule is:
8:30am – 9:30am: School Team Registration
9:00am – 9:30am: Judges’ Orientation
9:40am – 11:35am: First Round of Judging
11:35am – 12:00pm: Lunch
12:00pm – 1:15pm: First Round of Judging continues
1:15pm – 1:25pm: Break (team scores tallied for Final Round)
1:25pm – 1:40pm: Announcement of Top 3 Teams
1:40pm – 2:00pm: Move to Blackman Auditorium
2:00pm – 2:55pm: Final Round (top 3 teams present)
2:55pm – 3:25pm: Announcement of Special Awards (Final Round scores are tallied)
3:25pm – 3:40pm: Acknowledgements and Announcement of New England Future City Winner

Parking:
Public parking is available either at the Renaissance Garage or the Gainsborough Garage (location: http://www.northeastern.edu/neuhome/aboutnortheastern/maps.html) and costs about $6 for the day. I recommend Gainsborough since it’s the closest to the Curry Center; directional signs will be posted from the garages to the Curry Center.
